## How Send to Kindle Works

Screvi delivers books and articles straight to your Kindle through Amazon's personal document service. Books arrive as the original EPUB file you uploaded. Articles are converted into a clean EPUB with images included. Everything lands in your Kindle library and syncs to every device on your Amazon account.

## Setup

You need two things once: your Kindle address, and Amazon's permission for Screvi to send to it.

1. Find your Kindle email on Amazon under **Manage Your Content and Devices → Preferences → Personal Document Settings**. It ends in `@kindle.com`.
2. In Screvi, go to [Integrations → Send to Kindle](https://app.screvi.com/integrations/send-to-kindle) and save your `@kindle.com` address. The page shows your personal Screvi sender address — it looks like `kindle+a1b2c3@screvi.com` and is unique to you.
3. Back on the Amazon page, add that sender address to your **Approved Personal Document E-mail List**. Amazon discards mail from unapproved senders without telling anyone, so don't skip this.

## Sending a Book

In your Library, open a book's menu and choose **Send to Kindle**. The same action is on the book's source page. Screvi emails the original EPUB — cover, formatting, and images exactly as you imported them.

## Sending an Article

In Articles, open the article's menu and choose **Send to Kindle**. Screvi builds an EPUB from the article — title, author, images, and a link back to the original — and emails it. Long reads are the best case: no browser, no distractions, just e-ink.

Sent articles appear in your Kindle library as "Screvi: [article title]", so they sort together and are easy to spot among your books. Amazon strips every other kind of grouping metadata during conversion, so the title prefix is what makes them stack.

## Limits

- Files must be under 25MB. Amazon rejects larger email attachments.
- Only EPUB books can be sent. PDF support isn't available yet.
- Delivery takes a few minutes and requires the Kindle to be online.
- Amazon converts the file on arrival, so pagination may differ from Screvi's reader.

## Troubleshooting

**Nothing arrives.** Almost always an approval problem. Check that your personal sender address (shown on the integration page) is on your Approved Personal Document E-mail List, and that the address saved in Screvi matches the one in Personal Document Settings exactly.

**The document arrived without some images.** Screvi drops very large images to keep the file under Amazon's size limit.

**Amazon says the document can't be converted.** Re-import the EPUB into Screvi and try again, or send a different edition — some DRM-protected or fixed-layout files won't convert.
