# iOS App Guide

> Complete guide to using the Screvi iOS app: features, share extension, widget, and offline mode

## Overview

The Screvi iOS app gives you full access to your highlight library on the go, plus mobile-exclusive features like physical book scanning, the share extension, home screen widget, and offline reading.

## Main Features

### Home Feed

Browse your highlights in a scrollable feed with filtering by source type, tags, favorites, and date range. Same as the web app, but optimized for touch.

### Articles

Read saved articles in a clean reader. Highlight text while reading. Manage articles with inbox/read later/archive workflow. Explore curated and custom RSS feeds in the Explore tab.

### Search

Full semantic search across all your highlights. Type natural-language queries to find relevant content.

### Sources

Browse all your sources (books, articles, tweets, etc.) organized by type.

### Review

Swipe-based review interface. Swipe through highlights and use action buttons to rate, favorite, skip, or adjust frequency. Review streaks are tracked with a calendar visualization.

## Adding Highlights

The mobile app offers multiple ways to add highlights:

- **Text**: Type or paste a highlight manually
- **Voice**: Record audio. Screvi transcribes it using AI.
- **Camera**: Take a photo of a book page. AI extracts highlighted/underlined text.
- **Gallery**: Select a photo from your gallery for text extraction

## Share Extension

Save articles and highlights from any app using iOS's native share sheet:

1. In Safari, Twitter, Reddit, or any app, tap **Share**
2. Select **Screvi**
3. The article is saved automatically
4. If you had text selected, it's saved as a highlight linked to the article

The share extension uses a native Swift implementation for speed and reliability.

### Enabling the Share Extension

If Screvi doesn't appear in your share sheet:
1. Tap **More** at the end of the share sheet row
2. Find Screvi and toggle it on

## Home Screen Widget

Add o Screvi widget to your iPhone home screen for passive review throughout the day.

### Adding the Widget

1. Long-press on your home screen
2. Tap the **+** button
3. Search for **Screvi**
4. Choose **medium** or **large** size
5. Place it on your home screen

### What It Shows

- A rotating highlight quote, updated every 5 minutes
- A "Review ready" banner when you have a pending review session
- Tap the quote to open Screvi and see the full highlight

The widget works offline using cached quotes.

## Offline Mode

Read articles without an internet connection:

1. Go to **Settings > Offline**
2. Enable **auto-sync** to download articles automatically
3. Optionally enable **WiFi only** to save mobile data
4. Use **Sync Now** for manual downloads
5. Access offline articles from the **Offline** screen

Highlights created while offline are queued and synced automatically when you're back online.

## Push Notifications

Enable push notifications for:
- Daily review reminders
- Other important updates

Configure in **Settings > Notifications**.

## Quick Actions

Long-press the Screvi app icon for:
- **Add Highlight**: Jump straight to adding a new highlight
- **Support**: Get help
