Kindle highlights synced to Apple Notes

Unfortunately, Apple Notes does not offer an API, making it hard to import notes from external sources.
But thankfully, it's possible to sync Kindle highlights to Apple Notes using Screvi.

Step-by-Step Guide

1. Sign Up for an Account at Screvi.com

The first step to syncing your Kindle highlights is to create an account on Screvi.
Screvi is a tool to manage your reading highlights, and we'll use it as the middle-man to get your highlights into Apple Notes.

2. Sync Your Kindle Highlights to Screvi

Once your account is set up, you can import your Kindle highlights into Screvi using one of these two methods:

  • Chrome Extension: Install the Screvi Chrome extension and log in to your account. The extension will allow you to fetch your Kindle highlights directly from your Kindle account and add them into Screvi.
  • iOS App: Download the Screvi app from the App Store. Log in to your account, and sync your Kindle highlights.

3. Export Your Highlights from Screvi

After syncing your Kindle highlights, navigate to the Export page within Screvi. Here, you can export all your highlights into HTML files or Markdown.
The generated HTML is optimized for Apple Notes and ensures compatibility while retaining the structure of your highlights.

4. Import Highlights into Apple Notes

Now that you have your highlights in HTML format, it's time to move them to Apple Notes:

  1. Extract the downloaded zip file.
  2. Open the Apple Notes app on your Mac.
  3. Go to File > Import to Notes from the top menu.
  4. Open the highlights folder you've just extracted, select all HTML files (CMD + A), and click Import.

The notes will be imported into Apple Notes, organized and ready for you to access anytime.
