About Screvi

Screvi is personal. It exists because I needed it, and maybe you do too.

A Little Backstory

Screvi was born from my personal frustration with how I read non-fiction books and the current landscape of knowledge management tools.

It's frustrating.

You feel like you know so much, that you've read so many books and have been exposed to so many great ideas, but when you need to recall or talk about them, your mind goes blank.

All those highlights scattered across old notebooks, half-built notion templates and fancy second brain systems were just procrastination disguised as productivity.

I didn't need yet another complex system.

I needed to do the work, write and talk about those ideas, and apply them to my life.

The truth is, these tools can't replace the actual work.

The best they can do is collect and help us remember those ideas so that we can apply them when we need to.

So that's what I built.

A modern, minimalistic service that allows me to:

  • Store my highlights or insights with the least effort possible
  • Resurface them when I need them
  • Help me remember them

Every feature in Screvi comes from real experiences from myself and feedback from other readers like you.

Highlights That Inspired Screvi

Below is an example of some of the highlights that helped me build Screvi and guide my decisions as a founder.

They could've stayed forgotten and collecting dust inside the books or tweets that I've read years ago, but Screvi allowed me to rediscover them when I actually needed them and kept them fresh in my mind.

Value means helping people. If you're trying to build a microbusiness and you begin your efforts by helping people, you're on the right track. When you get stuck, ask yourself: How can I give more value? Or more simply: How can I help my customers more?

Solopreneurship isn't about disrupting an industry, building the next unicorn, or being featured on some silly Forbes list. It's about doing things you enjoy, with people you enjoy, and doing very little of what you don't like.

To build a product, "make something people want." To create art, make something you want. (The best do both).

No one ever reads the same book twice

A tool like Screvi brings something else to the table: Serendipity.

Sometimes you read a book, but it’s not the right time to fully understand it or connect the dots.

But with the highlights feed, you can rediscover old highlights that might be relevant at different times in your life.

For example: A few years ago I highlighted a passage from The War of Art about resistance. Back then, it felt interesting, but abstract. But today, as I'm more focused on creative pursuits, it clicks, much more than it did back then.

It’s like remembering something you didn’t know you knew.

Core Values

These principles shape how Screvi is built:

Ship Fast, Stay Lean

Quick iterations and real-world testing over long planning. Features take days to ship, not months.

Driven by Feedback

Every feature comes from real user experiences. Your feedback helps shapes the roadmap and future of Screvi.

Keep It Simple

No unnecessary complexity. Just the tools you need to learn and apply what you read.
