How Screvi's daily review works, how streaks are calculated, and how your review schedule and reminders fit together.
How the daily review works
Your daily review is always available in the app. Open Screvi any time, go to Review, and review the highlights Screvi surfaces for you. You don't need notifications turned on, and you don't need to wait for an email.
Reviewing resurfaces highlights you saved days, weeks, or months ago using spaced repetition, so you remember what you read. (For how the algorithm picks highlights, see Spaced Repetition Review.)
Streaks
Every day you complete a review, your streak grows by one. It stays alive as long as you review at least as often as your review frequency (below). Reviewing more than once on the same day counts once.
If you go longer than your frequency without reviewing, your streak resets to zero, and your next review starts a fresh one.
Your review schedule (frequency)
Your frequency is your review schedule. Choose one in Preferences:
- Every day
- Every 3 days
- Once a week
Frequency does two things:
- It sets how often reminders are sent (when you have them on).
- It sets your streak window: review at least this often to keep your streak going.
You can change your frequency at any time. A streak that is still active is never erased by a schedule change. Switching to a less frequent schedule gives you more room before it breaks; switching to a more frequent one applies from that point on, not retroactively.
Reminders (optional)
Reminders are optional nudges. Turn them on in Preferences to receive an email or a push notification on your review schedule. With reminders off, your daily review still works and your streak still counts.
From the daily email you can also tap Mark as reviewed to log your review and keep your streak going, straight from your inbox.
Your streak calendar
The Streaks page shows a calendar of your review history. Tap any reviewed day to see the exact highlights you reviewed that day, so you can revisit or share them.

Do I need notifications turned on to review?
