The problem with PDF highlights

PDF annotations live inside individual files scattered across your computer. There's no unified view, no search across documents, and no way to review your best highlights from papers and reports alongside your book highlights.

How Screvi solves it

Screvi offers two approaches: upload a PDF and read it directly in the built-in PDF reader with highlighting, or upload an already-annotated PDF to extract existing highlights. Either way, your PDF highlights join your unified library with AI search and spaced repetition.

Import methods

Upload and Read in Screvi

Recommended

Upload any PDF to the article reader. Read and highlight text directly in the built-in PDF viewer. Highlights are saved to your library automatically.

Extract Existing Annotations

Upload a PDF that already has annotations from another reader (Adobe Acrobat, Preview, GoodNotes). Screvi extracts the annotations in your browser.

How to import your PDF highlights

Step 1

Upload your PDF

Go to Articles > Add Article and drag a PDF file onto the upload area, or paste a URL pointing to a PDF. Max 50 MB.

Step 2

Read and highlight

Open the PDF in Screvi's built-in viewer. Select text to create highlights, just like in the article reader.

Step 3

Or extract existing annotations

Go to Integrations > PDF Import to extract highlights from an already-annotated PDF. The file is parsed in your browser.

Step 4

Search and review

Your PDF highlights are now searchable alongside all your other highlights. Use AI search, tags, and spaced repetition.
