Tags and Organization

Create a Tag

1. Open Tags in the web app and click Add Tag.
2. Name it and pick a color: one of 18 presets, or a custom hex color.
3. Save.

Tags are shared between highlights and articles, so "Psychology" on an article and on a highlight is the same tag.

Tag Highlights

• On a card: click the tag chip on any highlight in the feed and pick tags.
• Let AI suggest: click Suggest tags on a card. Screvi proposes tags from your existing set based on the passage.
• In bulk: select several highlights in the feed and use Add Tag in the action bar.
• On import: some importers let you tag everything they bring in.

Tag Articles

Open an article and use its tag control, or tag from the article list.

Filter by Tag

• Home feed: Filter By Tags in the filter panel
• Articles: filter the list by tag
• Review: Custom review > Filter Highlights to review one tag at a time
• Email digest: include or exclude tags under Review > Preferences
• Obsidian and Notion: tags travel with each highlight
• MCP: an AI assistant can list your tags and pull highlights by tag

Manage Tags

The Tags page shows every tag with its highlight and article counts. From there you can Edit Tag (name or color), Delete Tag, search, and sort A to Z or Z to A. Deleting a tag removes it from items but never deletes the items.

Tips

• Tag by theme ("Decision making", "Writing", "Parenting") rather than by book. Books already group highlights; themes cut across them.
• Run Suggest tags on old highlights to surface themes you did not notice while reading.
• Keep the set small. Ten tags you use beat fifty you forget.
