Screvi iOS App Guide - Screvi Docs

The Screvi app for iPhone and iPad is the full product in your pocket: your feed, articles, search, sources, and review, plus things only a phone can do. Download it from the App Store.

The Tabs

Home: your highlights feed, filterable by type, tag, favorites, and notes
Articles: your read-it-later inbox with Later and Archive, an RSS reader, and a podcast player
Search: semantic search across everything, with suggested topics to explore
Review: swipe through today's cards, then see your streak
Settings: connections, reader options, widget, notifications, and account

Save from Any App

Tap Share in Safari, X, Reddit, YouTube, or anywhere else and choose Screvi. Links are saved as articles. If you had text selected in Safari, that text is saved as a highlight on the article. Social posts are saved as highlights, threads as articles.

If Screvi is missing from the share sheet, scroll to the end of the app row, tap More, and turn Screvi on.

Add a Highlight by Hand

Tap + and type or paste. The toolbar under the text box gives you four more ways in:

Camera: photograph a book page, mark the passages, and let AI extract the text. See Physical Books.
Photo: do the same with a picture you already took.
Microphone: dictate a quote and Screvi transcribes it.
Tags: tag it before you save.

Pick a source or leave it under Personal Notes.

Import Kindle Highlights

Go to Settings > Connections > Kindle, pick your Amazon region from the list, and log in to Amazon in the built-in browser. Screvi reads your notebook and imports every highlight. No computer needed. Full details in the Kindle guide.

The same Connections screen covers Goodreads, Readwise, newsletters, Notion, file imports, export, and your API key.

Read Offline

Go to Settings > Reader > Offline & Sync:

Download articles automatically keeps your inbox available offline
Wi-Fi only avoids using cellular data for downloads
Download now fetches everything right away

Cached articles live in the Offline Library. Highlights you make offline are queued and synced when you are back online.

The widget rotates through your highlights every five minutes and shows a Review ready banner when today's review is waiting. Tap a quote to open it in Screvi.

Long-press your home screen, tap +, and search for Screvi.
Pick the medium or large size.

Customize it under Settings > Widget: light, dark, or system background, favorites only, notes only, specific tags or sources, and whether to show the source line. The widget keeps working offline from cached quotes.

Review on the Go

The Review tab deals you today's highlights as cards. Swipe, or use the buttons to see a card more or less often, favorite it, or remove it from review. When you finish, Screvi shows your streak. Your review calendar, with the exact highlights you reviewed each day, is under Settings > Review > Reading Calendar.

Notifications

Turn on Push Notifications under Settings > General > Notifications to get a nudge on your review schedule. Set the schedule itself (every day, every 3 days, or weekly) in your review preferences.

Quick Actions

Long-press the Screvi icon on your home screen for Add Highlight and Support.
