Overview

The Screvi iOS app gives you full access to your highlight library on the go, plus mobile-exclusive features like physical book scanning, the share extension, home screen widget, and offline reading.

Download from the App Store.

Main Features

Home Feed

Browse your highlights in a scrollable feed with filtering by source type, tags, favorites, and date range. Same as the web app, but optimized for touch.

Articles

Read saved articles in a clean reader. Highlight text while reading. Manage articles with inbox/read later/archive workflow. Explore curated and custom RSS feeds in the Explore tab.

Search

Full semantic search across all your highlights. Type natural-language queries to find relevant content.

Sources

Browse all your sources (books, articles, tweets, etc.) organized by type.

Review

Swipe-based review interface. Swipe through highlights and use action buttons to rate, favorite, skip, or adjust frequency. Review streaks are tracked with a calendar visualization.

Adding Highlights

The mobile app offers multiple ways to add highlights:

  • Text: Type or paste a highlight manually
  • Voice: Record audio. Screvi transcribes it using AI.
  • Camera: Take a photo of a book page. AI extracts highlighted/underlined text.
  • Gallery: Select a photo from your gallery for text extraction

Share Extension

Save articles and highlights from any app using iOS's native share sheet:

  1. In Safari, Twitter, Reddit, or any app, tap Share
  2. Select Screvi
  3. The article is saved automatically
  4. If you had text selected, it's saved as a highlight linked to the article

The share extension uses a native Swift implementation for speed and reliability.

Enabling the Share Extension

If Screvi doesn't appear in your share sheet:

  1. Tap More at the end of the share sheet row
  2. Find Screvi and toggle it on

Adding the Widget

  2. Tap the + button

  4. Choose medium or large size
  5. Place it on your home screen

What It Shows

  • A "Review ready" banner when you have a pending review session
  • Tap the quote to open Screvi and see the full highlight

The widget works offline using cached quotes.
