YouTube Videos
Save YouTube videos to Screvi and highlight transcript passages with timestamps
How It Works
Screvi can save any YouTube video along with its full transcript. Once saved, you can watch the video and follow along with the transcript inside Screvi, highlighting key passages as you go. Timestamps are preserved so you can jump back to the exact moment.
Save with the Browser Extension
- Install the Screvi Chrome Extension
- Go to any YouTube video
- Click the "Open in Screvi" button that appears in the video's action bar
- The video is saved with its full transcript
Save by Sharing the URL
You can also save a YouTube video by pasting its URL:
- Copy the YouTube video URL
- Go to Articles in Screvi
- Click Add Article and paste the URL
- Screvi detects it's a YouTube video and saves it with the transcript
On mobile, you can also use the share sheet: tap Share on any YouTube video and select Screvi.
Watch and Highlight
Once saved, open the video from your Articles tab. You can watch the video directly inside Screvi while following along with the transcript below it. Select any passage in the transcript to highlight it, just like you would in an article. Timestamps are preserved on each highlight so you can reference the exact moment later.
What Gets Captured
- Embedded video player (watch inside Screvi)
- Video title and channel name
- Full transcript with timestamps
- Thumbnail image
- Source URL (links back to YouTube)
