Import Highlights

How to Import Popular Book Highlights

Browse and add popular community highlights from well-known books to your Screvi library

Screvi lets you browse the most highlighted passages from popular books and add them to your library. This is useful for discovering key ideas from books you're reading, planning to read, or have already read but didn't highlight much.

How It Works

  1. Go to Integrations > Popular Highlights in the web app
  2. Search for a book by title or author
  3. Select the book from the results
  4. Screvi shows the most popular highlights from that book, sorted by how many people highlighted each passage
  5. Select the highlights you want (use "Select all" or pick individually)
  6. Click "Import selected" to add them to your library

The highlights are imported as a new source in your library, or added to an existing source if the book is already there.

Where to Find It

Popular highlights are accessible from two places:

From the Integrations page

Go to Integrations > Popular Highlights. This is the main entry point where you can search for any book.

From a source with no highlights

If you have a book source in your library that has zero highlights (for example, imported from Goodreads), Screvi shows a popular highlights picker directly on the source page. This makes it easy to populate the source with community highlights right away.

What You See

For each highlight, you can see:

  • The highlight text (the passage from the book)
  • The like count (how many readers highlighted this passage)
  • The location in the book (when available)

You can select individual highlights or use "Select all" to grab everything.

Tips

  • Popular highlights work best for well-known non-fiction and bestselling books. Niche or obscure titles may have few or no community highlights.
  • Use popular highlights as a starting point, then add your own highlights as you read the book.
  • Combine this with a Goodreads import: import your book library from Goodreads first, then add popular highlights to books you care about.
  • You can always delete highlights you don't find useful after importing.
