How to use Screvi's article reader to read distraction-free and highlight key passages
The Article Reader
Screvi's article reader provides a clean, distraction-free reading experience. Open any saved article from the Articles tab to start reading.
Highlighting in Articles
- Select any text passage while reading
- The selection is automatically saved as a highlight
- Highlights made in articles are added to your main highlight library
- They appear in your feed, are searchable, and included in reviews
Reader Features
Typography Controls
Customize your reading experience:
- Font family: Choose between serif (Literata/Merriweather), sans-serif (Figtree), or system font
- Font size: Small, medium, large, or extra-large
Table of Contents
For long articles, use the Table of Contents panel to jump between sections.
Article Summary
Generate an AI-powered summary of any article. Useful for quick review or deciding whether to read the full piece.
Highlights Panel
View all highlights you've made in the current article in one place.
Notes
Add personal notes to the article for your thoughts and reflections.
Managing Articles
Inbox Workflow
Articles are organized with a status system:
- Inbox: Newly saved articles
- Read Later: Articles you've triaged and want to read
- Archive: Articles you've finished
Tagging
Apply tags to articles for organization. Filter your article library by tag.
Favorites
Mark articles as favorites for quick access.
Special Content Types
PDFs
Upload PDFs or save PDF URLs. The reader displays the PDF in a dedicated viewer. You can also extract existing PDF annotations as highlights using the PDF Import feature.
YouTube Transcripts
Saved YouTube videos display the full transcript. Timestamps are clickable. Tap to jump to that moment in the video.
Instagram Posts
Saved Instagram posts are displayed with their content in the reader.
