Getting Started
What is Screvi?
Screvi is a highlights manager and read-it-later app. It collects highlights from Kindle, Kobo, Apple Books, PDFs, EPUBs, web articles, newsletters, X, YouTube, and paper books, then helps you remember them with daily spaced repetition review, semantic search, and a feed of your own ideas.
How much does Screvi cost?
You start with a 14-day free trial, no credit card required. After that:
- Monthly: $6.99 a month
- Yearly: $59.99 a year
- Lifetime: a one-time payment, currently $299
Every plan includes every feature and every app. Prices are in US dollars and may be shown in your local currency. See the pricing page.
How do I sign up?
Go to app.screvi.com and sign up with email, Google, or Apple.
What happens to my data if I cancel?
It stays in your account. You can log in, browse, and export your highlights. Review, email digests, imports, and AI features need an active plan.
Is there a limit on highlights?
No. Unlimited highlights, sources, and articles on every plan.
Sources and Importing
Which sources does Screvi support?
- Amazon Kindle, from all 13 regional stores, via the browser extension, the mobile app, email from the Kindle app, or your My Clippings file
- Kobo, from the highlights file or the automatic sync add-on
- Apple Books, by uploading two files, with the Mac desktop app, or by email
- PDFs and EPUBs, read and highlighted inside Screvi
- PDF annotations made in other apps
- Readwise, Goodreads, Zotero, and Snipd
- X bookmarks, and posts from Bluesky, Threads, Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and Reddit
- Web articles, newsletters, and RSS feeds
- YouTube transcripts
- Paper books, by photographing the page
- Text you paste, Markdown files, and CSV files
Can I use Screvi without a Kindle?
Yes. Many members never touch a Kindle. Articles, newsletters, PDFs, EPUBs, Kobo, Apple Books, and paper books all work.
Can I switch from Readwise?
Yes. Paste your Readwise token and Screvi imports every book, article, highlight, note, favorite, and tag. See the Readwise guide.
Does it work with Kindle Unlimited and library books?
Yes. If the highlights are in your Kindle notebook, they import.
Will re-importing create duplicates?
No. Screvi recognizes highlights it already has.
Features
How does the review system work?
Screvi uses a modified SM-2 algorithm, the family Anki uses. Each highlight has an ease factor. Tell Screvi to show a highlight Less and it comes back later; More and it comes back sooner. Review needs at least 3 sources and 20 highlights. See Spaced Repetition Review.
What is semantic search?
Search by meaning. Ask "what did I read about building good habits?" and Screvi finds matching passages even when they use different words. See AI Semantic Search.
Does Screvi work in other languages?
Yes. Highlights in any language work. Search and AI features work best in English and well in most widely spoken languages. The app itself is available in English, German, Spanish, and Portuguese.
Is there an Android app?
Yes, on Google Play, alongside the iOS app, a Chrome and Firefox extension, an Obsidian plugin, and an MCP server for AI assistants.
Can I use Screvi with Claude or ChatGPT?
Yes. Connect the Screvi MCP server and your assistant can search your highlights and articles.
Data and Privacy
Is my data private?
Yes. Your highlights are visible only to you unless you share a specific article link or a highlight image.
Where is my Kobo or Apple Books data processed?
In your browser. The Kobo and Apple Books files are read locally, and only the extracted highlights and book details are sent to Screvi.
Can I export my data?
Yes. Integrations > Export Highlights downloads everything as Markdown or HTML files in a ZIP. You can also sync to Obsidian or Notion, or use the API.
Can I delete my data?
Yes. Under Settings > Danger Zone, Reset Highlights removes all highlights, sources, and articles while keeping your account. Delete Account removes everything and cancels your subscription.
Support
