How to Sync Your X Bookmarks
Import your X (Twitter) bookmarks and save individual posts to Screvi
There are two ways to get X (formerly Twitter) content into Screvi: bulk-import your bookmarks using the browser extension, or save individual posts by sharing a link.
Method 1: Bulk Import via Browser Extension
The browser extension can import all your X bookmarks at once. Due to X's API limitations and costs, the extension reads bookmarks directly from your authenticated session, which is more stable and efficient than relying on the official X API.
Setup Steps
- Install the Screvi Chrome Extension from the Chrome Web Store
- Go to x.com/i/bookmarks (you must be logged in to X)
- The Screvi import overlay appears
- Click "Start Import"
- Wait for the sync to complete. Tweets are grouped by author and imported as highlights.
- Optionally enable Background Sync to have your bookmarks sync automatically every 24 hours
Method 2: Save Individual Posts by Link
You can save any individual X post or article to Screvi without the extension:
- From the browser extension: Click the Screvi extension icon while viewing any X post or article
- From the mobile app (iOS/Android): Tap Share on any X post, then select Screvi from the share sheet
- From the web app: Go to Articles > Add Article and paste the X post URL
The post content is saved as an article in your Screvi library, where you can read it and highlight specific passages.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is it safe to use the Chrome extension?
Yes, it's completely safe. The Screvi extension only has access to your X bookmarks page. Screvi cannot access any other X account information, post on your behalf, or modify your account in any way.
How often do bookmarks sync?
- Automatically syncs daily when background sync is enabled
- Manually sync anytime by clicking "Sync Now" in the extension
Can I sync bookmarks from multiple X accounts?
Yes. You can switch between X accounts in your browser and sync bookmarks from each account separately.
What's the difference between bulk import and saving individual posts?
Bulk import grabs all your bookmarked tweets at once and imports them as highlights grouped by author. Saving an individual post saves it as an article that you can read and highlight in the article reader. Use bulk import for your existing backlog, and share individual posts going forward as you find them.
