How Notion Sync Works
Screvi pushes your highlights into a Notion database it creates for you. Each source (book, article, tweet thread) becomes a page, and your highlights appear inside as quote blocks.
The sync is one-way, from Screvi to Notion. Edits you make in Notion stay in Notion, and re-syncing does not overwrite them.
Setup
- In the web app, go to Integrations > Notion.
- Click Connect Notion and approve Screvi in the Notion popup. Pick the workspace and pages you want Screvi to be able to use.
- Screvi creates a database called Screvi Highlights in that workspace.
- Click Sync Now for the first sync. A large library can take a few minutes.
What Lands in Notion
Each source becomes a database page with these properties:

Inside the page, every highlight is a quote block. A note on a highlight appears as a callout under it, and favorites are marked with a "Favorite" line.
Keeping It in Sync
- Daily Auto-Sync: turn this on and Screvi syncs once a day, but only when there are new highlights since the last run.
- Sync Now: push new highlights immediately. Existing pages are updated in place, never duplicated.
Reset and Disconnect
- Reset sync data clears Screvi's record of what has been synced. The next sync re-exports everything. Pages already in Notion are left alone, so you may want to archive the old database first.
- Disconnect removes Screvi's access to your workspace. Your Notion pages stay where they are.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I choose which highlights sync?
Not yet. The sync includes every highlight in your library. If you only want part of it in Notion, export a filtered set as Markdown from Integrations > Export Highlights and import that instead.
I deleted a highlight in Screvi. Does it disappear from Notion?
No. The sync only adds and updates. Remove it from the Notion page by hand.
Can I move the database to another location in Notion?
Yes. Screvi finds the database by its ID, not its location, so you can move it into any page you like.
