Readwise
Move your Readwise library to Screvi in one step. Books, articles, tweets, notes, favorites, and tags import through the Readwise API and stay in sync.
Updated
How It Works
Screvi connects to Readwise with your Readwise access token and imports everything: books, articles, tweets, and podcast highlights, along with notes, favorites, colors, and tags. After the first import, each sync only fetches what changed.
The import is safe to run while you are still using Readwise. Nothing is changed on the Readwise side.
Setup
- Get your token at readwise.io/access_token (you need to be logged in to Readwise).
- In Screvi, go to Integrations, find Readwise, and click Connect.
- Paste the token and click Sync.
A library with thousands of highlights takes a few minutes. You can leave the page.
What Gets Imported
- Books, articles, tweets, and podcast episodes as sources, with covers where Readwise has them
- Every highlight with its text and location
- Notes attached to highlights
- Favorites
- Highlight colors and tags
- The original highlight dates
Sources that have a URL are saved as articles in your Screvi library. Podcast highlights are stored as article sources. Everything else goes to your Sources.
Two Readwise tags are treated as instructions rather than tags: favorite marks the highlight as a favorite, and discard skips it.
Keeping Both in Sync
Once connected, click Sync any time to pull highlights added to Readwise since the last run. Use Full re-sync if you want Screvi to walk your whole Readwise library again, for example after fixing a book's metadata in Readwise. Screvi deduplicates, so a full re-sync does not create copies.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to cancel Readwise first?
No. Connect Readwise, run the import, and check your library. Cancel when you are happy.
Can I import a Readwise CSV export instead?
Readwise's CSV export is not supported directly. The API sync is faster and keeps notes and tags intact. If you only have the CSV, use Integrations > CSV Import and map the columns.
Does Screvi keep syncing after I leave Readwise?
Only while your Readwise token is valid. Once your Readwise account closes, your highlights are already in Screvi and stay there.
