Send to Kindle

Send EPUB books and saved articles from Screvi to your Kindle by email. Two-minute setup with Amazon's approved sender list, then one click per book or article.

Setup

You need two things once: your Kindle address, and Amazon's permission for Screvi to send to it.

  1. Find your Kindle email in your Amazon account under Manage Your Content and Devices > Preferences > Personal Document Settings. It ends in @kindle.com.
  2. In Screvi, go to Integrations > Send to Kindle and save that address. The page then shows your personal Screvi sender address, which looks like kindle+ab12cd34@screvi.com.
  3. Back on the Amazon page, add that sender address to your Approved Personal Document E-mail List.

Do not skip step 3. Amazon silently discards mail from unapproved senders.

In the mobile app, the same setup lives under Settings > Send to Kindle.

Send a Book

Open a book in Sources (or in the book reader) and choose Send to Kindle from its menu. Screvi emails the original EPUB, with cover, formatting, and images as you imported them.

Send an Article

Open the article's menu in Articles and choose Send to Kindle. Screvi builds an EPUB from the article, with title, author, images, and a link back to the original.

Sent articles show up in your Kindle library as "Screvi: [article title]", so they sort together and are easy to spot among your books.

Limits

  • Files must be under 25 MB, Amazon's attachment limit. Screvi shrinks or drops very large images to stay under it.
  • Books must be EPUB. PDF support is not available yet.
  • Delivery takes a few minutes and needs the Kindle to be online.
  • Amazon converts the file on arrival, so pagination may differ from Screvi's reader.

Troubleshooting

Nothing arrives. Almost always the approved list. Check that your Screvi sender address (shown on the integration page) is on Amazon's Approved Personal Document E-mail List, and that the Kindle address saved in Screvi matches Personal Document Settings exactly.

Some images are missing. Screvi drops the largest images to keep the file under Amazon's size limit.

Amazon says the document cannot be converted. Re-import the EPUB into Screvi and send again, or try a different edition. Some fixed-layout or DRM-protected files will not convert.
